3A and 3B

Dear Parents,

As many of you already know, we have a bond and mill levy proposed on the ballot this November.
I fully support the passage of the Bond and Mill Levy. Excel Academy, along with the other Charter Schools in our district will receive 10% of the funds.

The $535 million bond funding would enable:
  • Improvements, updates, and repairs for 110 schools including updated technology, lab space, and furnishings
  • Renovations/additions at 45 schools and facilities including more classroom space
  • 4 replacement and 3 new elementary schools
  • Safety and security upgrades
  • All neighborhood, option, and charter schools benefit
The $33 million mill levy override funding would enable:
  • Increased per student funding for programs suited to individual schools like STEM, career/tech, or arts/music
  • Transparent and competitive teacher compensation to ensure our ability to attract and retain the best teachers
  • Coverage of any funding gaps if the state reduces funding
  • Safety and security improvements, including enhanced mental health services such as school counselors and intervention programming
  • All neighborhood, option, and charter schools benefit

Update 9/20/2016

Good Morning,

Ask your students about yesterday when they had the opportunity to hear a presentation from "Living Lincoln".
Our grade 2/3 students also had a New York Times best selling author, Lin Oliver, present.
These are the moments our students remember all their lives....

Good Afternoon Parents,
I am sending an interesting link about all that teachers do.
Each day I feel blessed to work here at Excel where so many parents care and offer to help.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my teachers and I love our jobs!

Monday Update

Good Afternoon,

Our  students in grades 3-8 are almost finished with NWEA/MAP testing. We have preliminary results are they are a testimony to the work our teachers (and you as parents) are doing with our students. Final results will be announced in a couple of weeks however, at this time I am so proud to announce that our students scored above the National Norms in all areas and all grades.
Well done students!

Good Morning Parents,

We are looking for parent volunteers to be on our SAC (School Accountability Committee). This committee reviews our school assessment data, school policies, and much more. If you are interested please let me know and I will give you the dates of our meetings. These meetings are typically on Tuesdays before the Board Meeting, and this year we will be meeting about once a quarter.

Safety Door Locking

Good Afternoon Parents,

For safety purposes we do need to keep all outside doors locked. When there is a meeting please always enter through the front doors so that we know who is in the building.
Teachers and students have been instructed to not let anyone in the back doors.
Thank you for your understanding.
