Week of 9/11/2017

Classrooms are busy with the sounds of learning. All students are now in their math and reading ability groups. The NWEA/MAP assessments are complete and parents will receive those results at conferences (or sooner by parent request).

Our PTO fundraiser, Twisted Penny, has begun. Students are very excited for their class to win one of the many prizes by having the most in their jar each day. Stop by and check it out!

The hot lunch program is running more smoothly, after some adjustment. I have heard from several students that the lunches taste pretty good. Jeffco. does have a new chef this year, so perhaps your students would like to try some hot lunches this year. Pizza is offered every Wednesday. The calendar for October went home yesterday.

Enjoy our new web page and look for teacher updates within the next week.

Update week of 8/21

The Eclipse is over! Many of our students in grades 4-8 observed this event, and many went out with their parents to experience it. We also did our first Fire Drill of the year, to contribute to the excitement, why not?? :) The students did a wonderful job, it was seamless.
We have our Curriculum Nights for our parents on 8/22 for grades 2/3 and 4/5 from 5:30-7:00 and on 8/23 for grades K/1 and Middle School. There is baby sitting in the Library for children age 2 and up.
We are looking forward to seeing all of you.

Halloween is now the Day of the Notables (teachers will send out more info soon). Students are allowed to wear costumes all day and will present their person to the class. We will have an all school parade at 2:00 that day. Please join us as your own notable. Parties will begin at 2:30 as usual.

Back to School News

Welcome back to another wonderful school year. The teachers are returning next week to prep for all the students and we are all thrilled to see you again, and meet the new faces.

Registration is this Thursday from 7:00-4:00 in the cafeteria.
Open House is Wednesday, August 9th from 4:00-5:30. Meet your teacher and drop off supplies.

We will again have our First Day of School Assembly. Parents you are welcome to join us on the blacktop to kick off our school year. We will begin around 8:10 with a DJ, guests, and welcome back announcements. Students will look for the posters with their teachers' names and line up by them. Then we would like the parents to make a tunnel for our students to enter the school.
After that, parents please join us in the park for the Annual Yahoo, Boo Hoo, Breakfast.
We are all so excited to see you again, see you next week!
